Setup hints and tips for different gyros on Bergen R/C Helis

Push Pull tail setup

Here is a link to the Push pull tail setup. This is NOT recommended for use with 401 gyros even though it shows it in the instructions. The setup procedure is the same for JR gyros.

Hi Chris,

What's the problem with the 401 in this application ?
I have a 401 gyro & 9253 servo fitted, what would you recommend instead ?

Thanks,

Julian.

With the push pull system, you cannot get 100-120 on the gyro travel pot.

This is necessary for longevity of the servo. Too low or too high and the servo just works too hard and gets hot.

This is our experience on our helicopters, your experience may differ...

What's a good gyro and servo combo, for a Intrepid 23cc gasser ?
I can put the 401 on something else.

The 401 works just fine, just don't use the push-pull system!!

Hi Chris,

Sorry Chris, I should have supplied more info, we're going round in pyros here ! (no pun intended)

I have fitted - and would like to use - the push pull system on my Intrepid.
I'd like to remove the 401 and put it on one of my older nitro helis.

What gyro/servo would you recommend for the Bergen push-pull ?

I shall be in Fl next week and plan to visit some fine model shops they have there. Would be a good opportunity to pick up a decent gyro/servo for my Intrepid.
