How the different adjustments in the head are used on your helicopter

New Solid Dampeners

These new dampeners, made by KBDD for Bergen R/C, give us better dampening and durability than the 2 piece o-rings used in the past. They are available in 3 different ratings for the Flybarred head.

In your kit you will find 2 sets of dampeners, Pink (soft) and Blue (medium). For Helicopters using 800mm blades or larger, we suggest using the Pink dampeners. For heli’s using 690-720mm blades, the choice is yours, understanding the differences in handling between soft and hard dampening.

Soft dampening will allow you to run slower headspeeds without “nodding”, but may allow occurrences of boom strikes at slower headspeeds when attempting aerobatics.

Harder dampening is suggested for running higher headspeeds and performing aerobatics including 3D style flying.

For those wanting EXTREME hard dampening, we do offer lime green dampeners, but they are only suggested for those that KNOW they require them.
